The SMT-029 is a semiconductor type gas sensor used to detect hydrogen sulfide in the environment. The conductivity of the gas-sensitive material of the sensor changes accordingly when it encounters the measured gas. Using a simple test circuit, this change in conductivity is converted into a signal output corresponding to the change in gas concentration, thereby realizing gas detection. The sensor is packaged in a four-pin metal shell and is a low-cost sensor suitable for a variety of applications.
